Calcium silicate hydrates used for industrial insulation are mainly Robemorite (robemorite, 5CaO·6SiO2, 5H2O) and xonotrite (6CaO·6SiO2·H2O). The maximum operating temperature of calcium silicate insulation materials with the former as the main component is generally 650°C, and the maximum operating temperature of the latter as the main component can reach 1000°C.

 

Calcium silicate insulation materials are developing in the direction of ultra-light weight of product bulk density, asbestos-free products, diversified functions and special-shaped shapes. The emergence of ultra-light products, especially xonotlite ultra-light insulation materials are considered to be a breakthrough in the performance and application of insulation materials. The bulk density prepared by the double steam curing method is 100kg/m³, which is the smallest ultra-light calcium silicate insulation material.

Calcium silicate has become the most widely used material in industrial thermal insulation materials, and is widely used in tower tanks, kilns, pipeline insulation and heat insulation in electric power, chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, mining, kiln, shipbuilding, construction and other industrial sectors .
