The Difference of Mineral Wool and Rock Wool

Mineral wool and rock wool have similar function, both of them can be used for thermal insulation, sound proofing and energy-saving. In fact, they have difference in details.
First, the raw material is different. Mineral wool uses mineral waste residue as raw material, rock wool use basalt as raw material.
Second, the operation place is different. Mineral wool is widely used in industry area, rock wool is widely used in building area.
Third, the cost performance is different. Mineral wool has cheaper making cost, so the price is cheaper. Rock wool has higher quality at the same with higher price.
So if using the thermal insulation material, mineral wool is a better choice.
